Tau Kappa Epsilon

Founded on January 10, 1899, at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) is among the largest fraternal organizations in the world with over 275,000 initiates. The Xi-Chi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Kennesaw State University was installed as a chapter on February 24, 1973, and is the oldest continuously active chapter on the campus. 

The TKE Mission is to aid men in their mental, moral, and social development for life and enable them to create lifelong relationships that enhance educational, interpersonal, community and professional success. The TKE Educational Foundation offers over $75,000 in scholarships to collegiate Tekes each year.

Since our founding in 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity has never had an exclusionary clause to prevent individuals from joining. Our Founders established a Fraternity in which the primary requisites for membership would be the personal worth and character of the individual rather than the wealth he possessed, the honors or titles he could display, or the rank he maintained on the social ladder.

The primary philanthropy of Tau Kappa Epsilon is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since its opening. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. In 2019, Tau Kappa Epsilon pledged to donate $10 million in 10 years and in 2021, TKE became the first fraternity to raise over $1 million for St. Jude in a single year. We believe that college is the most opportune time for developing one’s abilities and to allow one the opportunity to grow as a man.
