Student Assistant Positions: Campus jobs for KSU students
Notice to KSU students seeking campus employment:
The KSU Department of Student Life provides this page as a service to KSU students, as well as KSU offices seeking student assistants. It is the student's responsibility to contact the sponsoring office or department to verify availability and to apply for positions.
The Federal minimum wage is $6.55 per hour. KSU Student Assistants, in most cases, are paid $6.55/hour, with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The Federal minimum wage will be raised to $7.25/hour beginning July 24 in compliance with the new minimum wage standard.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are hired, you cannot be paid until you have completed the new hire orientation process. Orientation is scheduled by Human Resources. Student orientation sessions are on Wednesdays ONLY from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Please call Human Resources at 770-423-6030 to register for the session and reserve your spot.
All student assistants employed through the Federal Work-Study program must first complete paperwork in the Office of Financial Aid before attending orientation session. You should also complete the online Work-Study application, available at the Office of Student Financial Aid Website. The necessary Online Work-Study application is available in the right menu.

Position: Student Assistant
Where: Box Office/Theater
When: Fall Semester
Schedule/When needed: Monday - Friday, morning, afternoon and evening shifts available. Saturday and Sunday events.
Skills required/desired: Strong oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, punctuality, the ability to work flexible schedules.
Job duties: Answer telephone, sell tickets, data entry, word processing and answer patron questions.
Pay rate: $6.55/hour

Skills required/desired: Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, strong customer service skills, understanding of Windows XP and Vista and PC troubleshooting. Mac experience is a definite advantage and application skills (Microsoft Office suite, common software) is a plus. CCIS/IS majors preferred, but not required. Professional and positive attitude a must!

Schedule/When needed: mornings, afternoons, evenings - including semester breaks and must be flexible to work between the hours of 8 am until 7 pm.

Job duties: Receptionist/Office Assistant - This student position is responsible for our initial contacts with the campus community as the responsibilities entail greeting visitors, handling incoming calls and performing general administrative duties. These duties include word processing, data entry, and internet research tasks. Operation of computers and basic office equipment is required. General understanding of AV systems is a plus.
