KSU Student Organization Web Page Form

Steps to a student organization Web page:

  • A user ID and passcode will be assigned; you will receive them via the e-mail address you note below. Your advisor will be copied with this information. You should receive your ID & passcode within one (1) week.
  • If your pages are already on a server other than KSU's and you only wish to link to us, you must still complete this form.
  • Once your page is active it will be linked to the student organization web pages at www.kennesaw.edu/student_life/studentorganizations.shtml
  • All pages are reviewed on a regular basis. Out-of-date pages or sites that do not meet the Student Life or University policies above will be unlinked from the the organization web pages and eventually removed from university servers.

What the Student Life Center will and will not offer in regards to Web pages:

  • The Student Life Center WILL NOT create the pages for you or teach you how to create a web page. Information Technology Services offers workshops for Dreamweaver, the industry-leading web development tool. This workshop, “Dreamweaver 8.0 Basics”, is a 3-hour course that will show you how to get started using the power of Dreamweaver to create and maintain a web site. Click here for info & registration.
  • You do not need to be on the KSU server if you do not wish to. Other options include free web page services (Yahoo, Google; we recommend FreeWebs at http://members.freewebs.com/) and free blogs (we recommend WordPress - http://wordpress.com/). Let us know when your pages are active and we will link you to the Student Life pages.
  • The Student Life Center will assign you web space, give you a passcode and user ID (or just link you to our pages if you already have a site), assist you in uploading your pages, and get you to the correct office if we can't help you.

Student Life Web Policies

Here's the 6 basic rules:

1.) The organization must have active status.

2.) Keep all pages, including membership and calendar info, up-to-date

3.) Your main page (index page) MUST include a link back to the KSU Student Life Center (http://www.kennesaw.edu/student_life)

4.) The site must contain a way for visitors to you or the group, such as an e-mail address.

5.)KSU graphics are a no-no on student group pages. According to KSU's web policies (http://www.kennesaw.edu/webguide/WWW_Policies.shtml): "3.3 Official University Graphics Prohibited on Unofficial Pages: The use of the official University graphics, including logos, seals or other identifying marks is prohibited on unofficial pages (Student group pages are considered 'unofficial pages')."

6.) Don't use your web page to attempt to overthrow the government.
