2007 Homecoming Competition Rules and Regulation

A group may not participate if they do not wholly complete and turn in ALL entry forms and applications by the scheduled date and time of Wednesday October 17, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. All forms and applications will be submitted electronically through ksukab.com.

Your organization must be a Registered Student Organization in order to participate in Homecoming. More than one RSO can combine to form a Homecoming Team.

A group may not participate unless they have a representative at the mandatory Homecoming meeting on Thursday October 18, 2007 at 5 pm. Any rules and regulations announced at that Homecoming meeting will be binding and carry the same weight as those encompassed in this Homecoming Packet. Each group’s homecoming representative is responsible for informing all team members of the rules and regulations prior to competition.

There will be no application fee.

All rules and regulations must be followed or be subject to point deductions or disqualifications. There is a three strike rule for each event. This homecoming document acts as the first strike.

If a group signs up to participate in the Homecoming Competitions and does not attend the event, they will automatically loose 50 points and cannot have a participant on the Homecoming Court. This group will still be eligible to win awards concerning the competitive aspect of Homecoming Week.

Any group questioning the judging and subsequent point distribution for any event should personally submit a typed letter to the KAB President and the KAB Advisor within 24 hours following that event. These can be dropped by the Department of Student Life. A question of judgment may be voiced at the event, but is up to the discretion of the Kennesaw Activities Board (KAB) as to what action will be taken at that time- this does not take place of a typed letter after the event. Questions regarding overall scoring and outcomes must be addressed via typed letter to the aforementioned KAB members by 5pm on Monday November 19, 2007.

Groups must have a Homecoming Representative with his/her phone number and e-mail address on the application.

The Homecoming Committee shall consist of the KAB president, Vice President of Programming, Advisor and any other appointed KAB members.

The Homecoming Committee will notify you if your idea submission is approved by Friday October 24, 2007. The submission form will be available by Thursday October 1, 2007. This refers to the Banner Contest, Float Contest, Lip Sync Contest, and the Cheer Contest. It will be on a first come first serve basis. This form will be completed and submitted electronically at ksukab.com.

There is a $300.00 spending cap for all groups.

The Homecoming Committee reserves the right to disqualify any group for infractions of the Homecoming rules and regulations. Any group disqualified from any event will result in a loss of 50 points.

A group must participate in every Homecoming event to have a representative on the Homecoming Court.

The previous Homecoming King and Queen cannot serve on the Homecoming Court for two consecutive years.

Winners of each Homecoming event will be announced at the Homecoming Dance.

The Homecoming Court representative from each organization does not have to attend every event to be eligible however a representative from his/her organization must be present.
