SUBMITTING ARTICLES | AUTHOR GUIDELINES

The Georgia Journal of College Student Affairs is interested in manuscripts concerning administrative concerns; creative programs to improve student services; student development theory and its application; professional development for student affairs professionals including counselors and administrators; issues related to and of concern to student affairs professionals; and original research related to the above. Research can be of a quantitative or qualitative nature.

Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Since a blind review process is used, authors should not identify themselves or any institutions involved in their research. Names of institutions can be inserted, when appropriate, after the review process.
  • Use the term student or participant rather than subject.
  • The entire manuscript should be typed, double-spaced, with one inch margins all around, in 12 point type, Times New Roman style, and in accordance with the guidelines published in the most recent APA Publication Manual.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references, quotations, tables, and figures. Authors should make sure these are accurate and correct.
  • The reference page(s) should only include citations referred to in the manuscript and all citations should be included in the reference page(s).
  • Upon acceptance of a manuscript, the author is responsible for making the changes recommended by the editor and for proofreading the manuscript prior to submitting the final copy.
  • Submission of the final copy of a manuscript indicates the author’s permission to publish it in the Georgia Journal.
  • Never submit a manuscript under consideration by another journal.
  • Full-length articles should not exceed 15 pages (references not included).
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in electronic format.
  • Submit the manuscript as one document and the author name, title, institution, and for the lead author, contact information (address and email) as a separate document.
