Insurance Information

Student insurance is not affiliated with or the responsibility of the Department of Student Life. This information is presented as a service only.

In Fall 2006, the Board of Regents mandates that students who meet the following criteria are required to participate in the State Student Insurance Plan:

  • All graduate students receiving a tuition waiver as a result of an assistantship award
  • All undergraduate and graduate international students holding F or J visas
  • All undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in programs that require proof of health insurance (Nursing)
  • All graduate students receiving fellowships that fully fund their tuition.

The BOR has contracted with Pearce & Pearce to provide coverage. Students who are uninsured and are seeking insurance can also use Pearce & Pearce for an individual policy. You are free, of course, to do your own research and choose your own provider.

For more information go to the University System of Georgia website concerning the mandatory health insurance program - click here.

If you feel you have adequate insurance, please review the information at the site's PDF file.

And if you meet the criteria you may request a waiver at:

- Select "Waive Online" from the left menu.

In order to keep costs low, the KSU Health Clinic does not file for insurance reimbursement. For more information and related services, visit the KSU Health Clinic Website.
