PROGRAMS
Personal Training Program
We want to help you obtain your fitness goals, so we have a NEW personal training program to get you started! The goal of this program is to help educate, motivate, and empower student members to make healthy lifestyle choices. Certified personal trainers will be in the facility each week, Monday to Friday, on a scheduled basis to provide one-on-one instruction. Strength
& Conditioning
The Strength & Conditioning area has approximately 3500 square feet
of space. There are 28 pieces of selectorized equipment from Nautilus,
Cybex, and Paramount. Over 5 tons of free weights with benches from Hoist,
Nautilus, Cybex, and Flex. If you are unfamiliar with a particular machine
or are interested in an orientation, you may ask the floor attendant for
assistance.
Cardiovascular Training
This area with a spectacular view of the award-winning Campus Green houses
52 pieces of cardio equipment from manufacturers such as True, PreCor,
StarTrac, Cybex, Schwinn, Versaclimber, and Stairmaster. Approximately
3500 square feet of space for your benefit. Below is a list of machines
available on the Cardio floor which is located on the second level above
the Strength & Conditioning floor. If you are unfamiliar with a particular
machine or are interested in an orientation, you may ask the floor attendant
for assistance. Heart rate monitors are available for checkout for no
additional charge at the Fitness Desk on the Cardio floor and at the Equipment
Checkout Desk.

All machines are first-come,
first-serve unless the machines are being used for a group exercise program.
During peak hours, the machines are limited to 40 minutes of use. Participants
are to sign up for use of the machines at the Cardio floor’s Fitness
Desk. Participant must be on site to sign-up for a machine.
Floor
Exercise & Stretching Area
An area is provided on the Cardio Floor for stretching and floor exercises.
The True Stretch Trainer has 30 listed stretches. You can even tailor
your stretch to a specific recreation activity such as running, golf,
or racquet sports. Two PreCor Stretch Trainers also assist with stretches
for major muscle groups. To compliment this area there are mats, medicine
balls, resista-balls, plymetric boxes, abdominal bench, hyper-extension
bench, and jump ropes available.
Circuit Training
Room
A great way to get a quick 30-minute workout is to try our Circuit Training
Room located in room 136. 15 stations make up the circuit. The attendant
will start the time and you are on your way. Upper and lower body exercises
are incorporated into the workout. Numbers are placed at each station
to give the direction of the circuit. Click

machine or are interested in an orientation, you may ask the attendant
for assistance before you get started.
Equipment
Demo
Periodically, new equipment will be demonstrated (demo) in our facility
to receive feedback from our participants. So, the next time you see a
Demo piece, try it out and give us your feedback by completing a short
survey.
Fitness Area Etiquette
• Patrons unfamiliar
with the operation of any fitness equipment may ask a floor monitor
for assistance.
• Do Not drop dumbbells or weight plates. Use a weight that you
can safely lower to the floor or ask for assistance.
• Appropriate athletic attire is required. For their safety, patrons
are advised to wear loose fitting athletic-gear such as t-shirts, athletic
shorts, sweat pants, sweat shirt, and athletic shoes that are designed
to be worn in a fitness facility. No items may have any type of adornment
that may poke, puncture or tear the upholstery of fitness equipment.
• Please wipe off equipment after use. Wipes are available on
each fitness floor.
• The use of a towel is strongly recommended while exercising.
• Place all personal items in a day locker. The SR&WC is not
responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Bags, books, coats,
etc. may not litter the fitness floor.
• Please return all weight plates and dumbbells to the appropriate
rack and spaces provided immediately after use. Weights that are left
out are a safety hazard as well as inconvenience to others.
• Do not move benches or equipment from their proper place.
• Use of equipment other than its designed function is prohibited.
• Improper behavior is prohibited and subject to immediate disciplinary
action.
• Personal radios, CD/MP3 players, with headphones are permitted.
• The use of chalk is prohibited.
• No chewing gum
allowed.
• Users should immediately report any injury or facility equipment
irregularity to the staff member on duty.
• Due to possible damage, weight belts are prohibited on fitness
equipment with padding.
• Collars are mandatory at all times when using weight bars.
• Please be efficient when using fitness equipment while others
are waiting. Do not sit on the equipment between sets.
• Floor monitors may intermittently clean equipment during the
operating hours of the facility for safety and/or sanitary reasons.
• Even within this environment, please be mindful of personal
hygiene. You may be asked to leave if this becomes a problem in which
excessive body odor or excessive perfume/cologne is involved.
• Abusive language will not be tolerated.
• Respect for equipment and the facility are to be demonstrated
at all times. Misuse of equipment and facility may result in expulsion
and/or loss of additional recreational privileges.
