Kathy has been at KSU since August, 1989. In her current role as Director of Student Life, she is responsible for the entire Department of Student Life. Kathy thinks she has the greatest job in the world, and she especially thinks KSU students are the BEST. Kathy is pursuing her Ph.D from the University of Georgia, anticipating a graduation date of August 2013. She is looking forward to KSU football, and she loves the new KSU Fight Song!

Ed has been advising the student media groups at KSU since 1991 and still enjoys coming into work each day. He is a self-proclaimed geek and happy meal toys have found a home in his office. Ed has a very tolerant, wonderful wife and three boys that have stopped laughing at his jokes long ago.

Amie started working with StuLife in January 2011, a few months after she moved from St. Louis, MO. She is a born native of AK but was raised primarily in Southern CA and NV. Some of her fav things in life include: courage, laughter, lots of color, media, mass amounts of delectable food, music that inspires her, people who enter her life as strangers but become like family, techy stuff, the feeling of defrosting on cold days, traveling, and truth. The guy she admires the most is Jesus, the one the Bible is always talking about. Amie is also really fond of her husband, Michael, and will brag him to just about anyone!

Jennifer started working with KSU in June 2011 as the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Life. Jennifer attended the University of South Florida and later transferred to Nova Southeastern University where she completed her Bachelors Degree. She later attended Florida International University to pursue working with college students and earned her Masters of Science Degree in Higher Education Administration. Jennifer joined the KSU community from GSU where she worked as a Residence Hall Director. She enjoys volunteering and being a member in the Association of Fraternity & Sorority Advisors where she serves on a variety of committees. During her free time she enjoys reading, running, traveling to FL to spend time with her family and exploring the many different sites here in Atlanta.

Stephen began his time with Kennesaw State in June 2012 as the Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life. Stephen attended Mercer University where he completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After graduating from Mercer, Stephen, a brother of Alpha Tau Omega, traveled for Chi Phi Fraternity as a consultant. Following his tenure with Chi Phi, Stephen attended The Florida State University to pursue working with college students and earned his Masters of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs in April. He enjoys volunteering and being a member in the Association of Fraternity & Sorority Advisors, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and American College Personal Association where he serves on a variety of committees. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, singing at various venues, and traveling the country exploring various cities and attractions. If you follow the music in the Student Center, you will likely find Stephen!

Bernard earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the D. Abbott Turner College of Business at CSU in May 2005 and received his Master’s in Public Administration from Columbus State University in 2009. He holds a certification from the Georgia College Personnel Association for successful completion of the 2008-2009 Student Affairs Foundations Institute.
Bernard is a member of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Georgia College Personnel Association, Order of Omega Honorary member and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
McCrary holds a number of other professional, service, and student advisory affiliations. Most recently, he was honored at the Rho Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s Pink Ice Educational Ball as an Emerging Young Leader. He was also named a Love of Learning Scholarship Recipient by The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and featured on the cover of their special awards edition Forum magazine.
He enjoys working out, playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. He plans to pursue a PhD in Higher Education in the near future.

Lauryn joined the Student Life team in January 2011. Prior to KSU, Lauryn was at Old Dominion University in VA where she worked in the Office of Student Activities & Leadership and was a very active student leader. She also has extensive volunteer experience; her most recent experience is serving as Co-Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for a newly established non-profit organization, T.R.U.S.T., Inc. and working with the Atlanta Urban League, where she serves on several committees. Lauryn is dedicated to finding ways that work towards the betterment of society and its people. She hopes to inspire individuals to be proactive citizens, and be the change versus being complacent. Her favorite quote is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” (Ghandi)

Janice began working for Kennesaw State University in the summer of 2008 in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and as of January 2012, she is part of the Student Life Team! She works closely with Jennifer Messer to fulfill the reservation needs for the Student Organizations on campus. Janice is originally from sunny Miami, Florida, and moved to Georgia via South Carolina, in 2003. Janice loves helping people and is passionate about empowering women. There is no greater fulfillment than helping others to help themselves. It is very gratifying in knowing you played a role in helping someone to succeed in life.

Jennifer began working for Kennesaw State University in the summer of 2011! She works closely with Janice Malone to fulfill the reservation needs for the Registered Student Organizations on campus. Jennifer is originally from Peachtree City, GA and moved to Kennesaw in 2006 to attend Kennesaw State. After graduation from the KSU Coles College of Business in May of 2011, she began her exciting career in the Student Life Office. She feels that the most exciting thing about her job is being able to guide students in the most effective way to have a successful event for his/her student organization.

Walter, AKA “Buck,” came to Student Life in July 2010 after working in Business Services as a procurement specialist. Buck’s primary functions are working with the RSOs’ funds, SABAC funds, paying bills, and assisting with line-item budgets. The best part of his job is working with a great team of people and being able to help students with a variety of activities. Buck grew up in Dunnellon, FL. After high school he moved to Brevard County and began a career working at the Kennedy Space Center for 13 years. Some of his most memorable moments while at the Space Center were meeting several astronauts, being selected to watch a launch from the press site, and view a shuttle landing from the landing strip tower.

Cat started working at Kennesaw State in 2001 and has worked in the Department of Student Life since 2005. As the Office Manager, she will often be one of the first smiling faces to greet you once entering the Student Life office. She loves working in Student Life, especially loves working with KSU students, who call her “Mama Cat.” Cat has a Bachelor of Science in Education and taught for a number of years. She also worked with her church’s youth for 15 years. Her favorite things to do are spending time with her children & grandchildren, read & listen to music.
