Colleagues,

The Thirteenth Annual Student Scholarship Symposium will be open to the KSU community on Monday, April 14, at 6:00 pm in the Student Center University Rooms.

As co-chairs of the event, we would like to encourage your (and more importantly, your students') participation in this year’s celebration.

If you have had the opportunity to mentor students in a scholarly undertaking over the last year, we encourage you to have those students display the fruits of their labor. In past years we have had a wonderful diversity in the projects presented, including

  • readings of new works by budding authors,
  • performance of new compositions by the musically inclined,
  • explanations of curricular innovations by prospective educators,
  • innovative business models by future entrepreneurs,
  • urban landscape analysis by potential geographers, and
  • the occasional scientific research paper.

Each participant will receive an award from the campus chapter of Sigma Xi, the scientific research society, honoring their contribution to the event. The displays will also be judged, and the best student contribution from each participating College will receive an award.

If you and your student(s) wish to participate, please go to the Project Abstract and Exhibit Information forms, save the document in Microsoft Word on your computer, fill in the appropriate information, and return it to Dr. Bill Ensign by e-mail (AS A WORD ATTACHMENT) by Friday, April 4, at 5:00 pm.

Visit the other links on the Symposium web site for additional information, some pictures from previous symposia and a list of last year’s presenters and their projects.

Once again, we encourage your participation. If you have questions, feel free to contact any of us by e-mail.

    Sincerely,
