Practicum Training Overview

Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) of Kennesaw State University offers training experiences for masters, doctoral, and bachelor trainees. CPS utilizes an integrated multidisciplinary model in the the delivery of a comprehensive range of psychological services to the Kennesaw University student community. CPS provides training within a context that values the uniqueness of each human being while sensitive to cultural and individual diversity in the immediate and the extended community. Our training programs are services oriented and individually tailored to provide a broad range of training opportunities with particular consideration to the unique of each discipline.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Candidates for the CPS Practicum/Internship Training Program must be actively pursuing on of the following degrees in an accredited academic program:

  • Degree of Ph.D./Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology,
  • Degree of M.A. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
  • Degree of M.S.W. in Social Work
  • Degree of B.S. in Mass Communication

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit:

  • Cover Letter
  • Current curriculum vitae/resume
  • Two writing samples (ex. Press Release, Newsletter, Marketing Piece, News Article, etc.) for B.S. in Mass Communication Only

Materials should be submitted before or during the Spring Semester. Once materials are received, the applicant will be contacted to schedule an on site or telephone interview with the CPS Staff. Interviews typically take one hour. An interview is required for placement in the CPS Practicum Training Program. Interviews are typically scheduled for Fridays.
