Into the Light
Too often we ignore what we believe has no effect on our lives, but addiction affects those around us in many ways. From the loss of someone we love to overdose, to the hope of a life in recovery, there are many stories to be told. For this project, each piece of paper includes words or images from someone in or someone who knows someone in recovery from, still struggling with, or lost to addiction. The purpose of this project is to take these stories out of the shadows and into the light.
This art installation will be on display in the Social Science Building Atrium (1st floor) from September 2-September 17, 2015.
With a strong commitment to the advancement of the research, education and services provided to young adults in recovery pursuing higher education; the CYAAR hosts conferences, meetings and workshops bringing together individuals with common interests in this field. The 2012 3rd National Collegiate Recovery Conference brought together the expertise of those working in research, treatment, counseling and higher education.

Since the Collegiate Recovery Community is built on peer support, several times during the year, CRC students participate in community events. With the busy lives of students it is important to have several occasions that everyone can get together. Events include holiday parties and back to school events.
Celebration of Recovery
Celebration of Recovery is a meeting open to KSU students and the community. The meeting is held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM during the fall and spring semesters. Celebration is cancelled when that date falls on a holiday or school closing. Please contact our office for room location and other information.
National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week - NCAAW
Fall Observance of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week is held each year in October. College and university students will join with their peers on more than 1,000 campuses across the country to promote NCAAW. During NCAAW, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of events, all designed by the campus’ peer education group to reinforce personal responsibility and respect for current state laws and school policies when it comes to the consumption of alcohol beverages.
The Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery invites the parents of CRC students along with CYAAR Board members to Parent Night each year. The event creates an opportunity for parents to learn more about KSU, the CYAAR program, meet the staff and board and meet other parents of students in recovery pursuing their degree.
The CRC Parent Event will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015, 2-4pm
Meet & Greet the Board
The Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery Meet & Greet is designed to bring connection between the CYAAR administration and board members and the students of the Collegiate Recovery Community.
