Education Abroad Advisory Committee of the Faculty Senate

Description

The Education Abroad Office works closely with the Education Abroad Advisory Committee of the Faculty Senate (EAAC). The EAAC is a standing committee of Kennesaw State University. It is composed of seven elected faculty members appointed from KSU’s Academic Colleges. The Director of the Education Abroad Office serves as the Chair of the committee with the Director of Global Engagement from the Institute for Global Initiatives and the Education Abroad Coordinator for Short-Term Programs serve as standing EAAC members.  Appointed committee members are experienced leading education abroad programs.  The EAAC’s responsibilities consist of recommendations for and the development of education abroad program policies and procedures, and reviewing faculty applications for proposing a program based on the following:  completeness of proposal, academic rigor, financial planning/budgeting, innovation, diversity, safety, faculty knowledge & experience, and previous success of faculty.

Mission

To work collaboratively with the university’s academic colleges and departments, and the Education Abroad Office, the EAAC aims to support programmatic integrity and to ensure participant safety through the careful review of program proposals.
