Brazil Exchange: Sport Science Internship.

Program Description
KSU’s Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Science has an ongoing relationship through the Federal University at Florianopolis (UFSC) in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Internships in sport management, exercise science and physical education are available. It is highly recommended that students have at least some conversational abilities in Portuguese or some fluency in Spanish.

Program Dates
Spring 2008: Jan.14 to April 25
Summer 2008: May 12 to July 25

Program Cost
Sport Management majors have the cost of airfare provided through the Sport Management Majors Club. Tuition is paid to KSU for 12 semester hours. As a conservative estimate, students should plan to take $3,000 ($1,200 for rent and $1,800 for meals
and personal expenses) for the program duration. Students are generally paired with UFSC students and are expected to share expenses as they would with any roommate. Housing is in the adjacent community, and is easily within walking or bicycling
distance. Telephone and Internet access is dependent upon the UFSC student’s situation, but the Internet is always available on the UFSC campus.

Courses
HPS 4950 (12 credit hours): Sport Management Internship. This is the culminating, capstone experience for Sport Management majors. Students work for sport organizations or agencies in a variety of capacities for 480 hours over a 12-week time frame.
