General Study
Program Description
Discover Latin America while studying history, geography,
Spanish language and culture, or visual art for three weeks on
the campus of the University of La Serena. The city of La Serena,
with its colonial architecture, is located on the Pacific Ocean
just minutes away from lush valleys, the Andes Mountains and
world famous observatories. Students will be housed in apartments
close to beautiful La Serena and Colquimbo beaches. The
cost includes a weekend trip to a small village located in the
Andes Mountains and an evening at an important astronomical
observatory. Optional ski trips are also available. The final three
days of the program will be in the capital city of Santiago, which
is surrounded by the snow-covered Andes.

Program Cost
The cost is about $3,150. Students will stay at the Stella Mar
apartment complex. There will be four same sex students per
apartment. Faculty will also stay at the same complex. The
complex features a restaurant for breakfast (included) and
optional dinners. Phone and free wireless Internet are available.
The apartment will also provide laundry services for a fee.
