Summer 2010
Program Description The Hague, Netherlands is the home base for almost every international organization related to promoting peace and administering justice. The Peace Palace, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the International Court of Justice and the Academy for International Law are located in The Hague. The Hague also accommodates the International Criminal Court, the headquarters of Europol, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the Yugoslavian Tribunal. We will observe hearings in the International Criminal Court and tour the Peace Palace, International Court of Justice and the Yugoslavian Tribunal. The program includes excursions to Amsterdam, Gouda, and Delft.

All participants will take the following 3 CR HR course:
CRJU 4490: International Crime & World Justice
Prerequisite: CRJU 1101
Housing
Students will stay in Stayokay Hostel in The Hague.

Program Cost
The program cost of $2,900 includes airfare, local transportation, housing, two meals per day, program-related excursions and emergency health insurance. Tuition is paid separately. Cost subject to slight change.

A $300 nonrefundable deposit is due at time of application.
The first program installment of $1300 is due by March 1, 2010.
The second program installment of $1300 is due by March 15, 2010
Faculty Background
Dr. Emerson has been teaching at KSU since 1999 and has taught courses in both Criminal Justice and Sociology. Her teaching and research focus is in the areas of violence and victimology. This will be her fourth time leading time leading this program.
