Allan Edwards
Instructor
Allan Edwards holds bachelor's degrees in Western Philosophy and English Literature from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, a master's degree in English, and a Master's of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from the University of Louisville. He has been a member of AFTRA since 1985 and AEA since 1987, enjoying a long and continuing career in theatre, film, and commercials. He teaches acting, composition, public speaking, and English Literature, with a particular emphasis in Shakespeare. He has performed over two-thirds of Shakespeare's plays in more than 50 different productions. You can also find his name in the original cast lists of Steven Dietz's "10 November" and "Foolin' Around with Infinity," Beth Henley's "Signature," Marisha Chamberlain's "Angels of Warsaw," and of Steve Murray's "The Algae Eaters," which premiered at the Horizon Theatre in 1999. In the Atlanta area, Edwards has also performed at The Georgia Shakespeare Festival and at the Gainesville Theater Alliance. A native of Houston, Texas, Edwards has performed in theaters all over the country, including The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Theater Virginia in Richmond, Charlotte Repertory Theater, Triad Stage, and for many years, Edwards has been a resident actor at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival.
