He also began a relationship with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival as choreographer and teaching artist for Camp Shakespeare. In 2001, he was the recipient of the “Artist for the New Millennium” award given by the University of Alabama Alumnae Chapter of the Society for the Fine Arts. Shortly after, Daryl moved to New York City where he continued work as a dancer with several local projects and companies, and, for the first time, began working as an arts administrator with Urban Bush Women. In the fall of 2002, Foster enrolled as a graduate student at Florida State University and completed his MFA in the spring of 2005. He is currently living and working as a dance artist in Atlanta.
