Emily Yewell Volin

Emily performed in Chicago with the Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and River North Dance Company. Emily was also a faculty member at the Giordano Dance Center and at the Lou Conte Dance Studio (home of Hubbard Street Dance Company), both in Chicago. She went on to become a company member of Wats on Dance! The University of Arizona Dance Ensemble, and Jazz Dance Theatre South and performed throughout the United States. She served three years as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Dance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Yewell Volin has taught extensively in studios and universities throughout the United States and abroad and frequently choreographs and performs for Industrial venues. Yewell Volin currently resides in the Atlanta area where she is a Jazz Dance Faculty member at Pebblebrook High School, a Magnet Performing Arts Program, and an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Georgia Dance Department. She was a dance faculty member for the International Dance Exchange and Scholarship program (IDEAS), an exchange between Nuremberg, Germany and Chicago from 1994-1996 and often returns to teach master workshops. She is a board member the Jazz Dance World Congress and served as Administrative Assistant for the JDWC in 1996 and 1998. Emily also regularly serves as an out of state panelist for the Kentucky Arts Council Project Grants Committee.
