Kathryn T. Farley

Professor Farley obtained a doctorate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University in 2007, writing a dissertation that investigated the use of digital media tools in performing arts curricula at the post-secondary level. She has just completed a three-year assignment as a Marion L. Brittain Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Farley's writings about the digital mediation of live performance events has been published in peer-review journals, such as Leonardo , Theatre Journal and Crossings: Electronic Journal of Art and Technology . Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Wesley Center for New Media Research and the Daniel Langlois Foundation. Along with members of her GA Tech research team, Kathryn recently completed a chapter to be included in Throughout: Art and Culture Emerging with Ubiquitous Computing , scheduled for publication by MIT Press in late 2011.
