Susan Reid
Instructor

Susan Reid holds an M.F.A. in Directing from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a B.A. in English from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. Since graduating from UNC-G, she has been teaching and directing in the Southeast.  She most recently served as Head of the B.F.A. Acting Program at Columbus State University. While there, she received two grants that allowed her to study in Oxford; one summer at Merton College for a Shakespeare intensive; the other to create a curriculum for a joint English and Theatre studies course with an abroad component. In addition, she continues to teach a number of classes for all ages at Theatre in the Square.

Currently, her focus resides primarily in directing. Atlanta work includes: Theatre in the Square--Tuesdays with Morrie, The 1940’s Radio Hour (2003 and 2004), Red Herring, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi; Jewish Theatre of the South--From Door to Door; Aurora Theatre--EnchantedApril, Last of theRed Hot Lovers.  Additional directing favorites: Curse of the Starving Class, The Comedyof Errors, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Pavilion, Voice of the Prairie, The Baltimore Waltz and Twelfth Night

Reid is a member of the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Georgia Theatre Conference and Theatre Communications Group, Inc. She is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges.
