Auditions will be held in the dance studio located in the Recreation and Wellness Center, Building PE124.  Students and parents should park in the Visitor's Parking Lot B, located off Chastain Rd. when you turn on Kennesaw State University Road. 

Audition Requirements:

All students entering the dance major program must demonstrate technical and artistic aptitude capable of successfully completing the program of study. The audition process will consist of a 30-minute ballet barre, followed by a short center-floor modern/jazz combination, and a final across-the-floor ballet, modern or jazz combination.

DANCE MINOR STUDENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO AUDITION FOR ADMISSION INTO THE DANCE MINOR PROGRAM.  THE AUDITION REQUIREMENT IS ONLY FOR DANCE MAJOR STUDENTS.

Students must bring appropriate footwear to the audition. The program recommends that women wear black leotards and pink tights, and men wear black tights or shorts and vests to the audition. The dance studio will be available 30 minutes prior to the audition for students to warm-up.

Following the audition class, students will interview individually with faculty to discuss goals and receive program information. Students are not required to prepare a solo combination for the audition. Students will be notified about acceptance into the program within two weeks following the audition. University Admission Requirements

In addition to auditioning for admission into the dance major degree program, all students must secure admission into Kennesaw State University through the Office of Admissions at http://www.kennesaw.edu/admissions/ugadm.shtml.

Acceptance to the dance major degree program will be granted provisionally following the audition for students who have not yet secured university admission. For questions about university admission, call 770-423-6300.

Transfer Auditions:

Students who wish to transfer to the Program in Dance at KSU from another institution or from another department follow the same audition procedures as new students. A special audition may be scheduled for students who wish to enter the program at a time when regular auditions are not scheduled.

Course Placement:

At the time of acceptance into the program, students will be advised about course scheduling and technical level placement. The individual course instructor reserves the right to request a student to take a lower level technique course if the student is not technically at the level required for entry into the course.

KSU Dance Company Auditions
