Rebecca Makus

Rebecca M. K. Makus holds an M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts and a B.F.A. from Smith College. She is an Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University in GA. She has an impressive background in international design and works frequently in the UK. She has been Resident Lighting Designer for Proto-type Theatre, Ltd, an experimental theatre company based out of Lancaster, UK, for over 15 years. She works extensively in dance and is a frequent collaborator with Bill Young, Colleen Thomas and Dancers. She also works with Lauri Stallings of gloATL and Ivan Pulinkala of Kennesaw State University. Her international work includes designs at Lyon Opera Ballet, Nuffield Theatre at Lancaster University, Opera de Monte Carlo, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Sibiu International Theatre Festival. She has worked extensively in New York City for over 15 years including shows at Lincoln Center, Mint Theatre, Dance New Amsterdam, Dance Theatre Workshop, P.S. 122, HERE Arts Center and D.R.2 Theatre.
