T&PS majors featured in "Disney's High School Musical"

The Towne Lake Arts Center held auditions for its production of “Disney’s High School Musical,” performers traveled from as far away as Stockbridge and Atlanta for the opportunity to be in the show.  Of the more than 80 who tried out, 28 were cast, including some very talented young people who attend Kennesaw State University.


Theatre & Performance Studies majors Jillian Melko and Nick Morrett are featured as Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton.  Other T&PS majors in the production include Scott Graham, who doubles with Morrett as Troy, and Jason Marett and Andrew Berardi (who double as Ryan Evans.


Directed by Gay L. Grooms with choreography by Joel Atchison, Taryn Chidebelu-Eze and Kristin Storla, the show tells the story of a group of high school students dealing with friends, family, school activities and pursuing their dreams. 

Sixteen performances are scheduled from January 12 through February 4, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and matinees at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors and may be purchased online at www.tlaclive.org or by calling 678-494-4251.  The theater is located at 6576 Commerce Parkway,  Woodstock just north of the Cobb County line off of Bells Ferry Rd.
