Calloway Title awarded for being the
best in Georgia
By Kyle J. Levstek
In the commercial real estate business, there are some things that remain constant:
Property taxes are due towards the end of the year, business is better when
interest rates drop, and Calloway Title and Escrow -- once again -- is the top
commercial real estate firm in Georgia.
Calloway Title researches the deed records in county court houses all over the
state and issues policies and commitments insuring the interests of the property
owner, as well as the prospective purchaser. Calloway Title specializes in commercial
titles, the more difficult and in-depth end of title examination.
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, the employees and staff of Calloway Title and Escrow
were honored at a dinner given by Chicago Title Insurance Corporation. The dinner
was also held to award Calloway Title the "President's Circle Award,"
the award given to the top producing agent of Chicago Title in the state. Chicago
Title has thousands of agents all across Georgia, and Calloway Title has again
distinguished itself as the top-grossing Chicago Title agent.
This is the seventeenth year Calloway Title has received this great recognition,
and, according to Mr. Calloway himself, "It will not be the last."
The main reason why Calloway Title is consistently the top firm in the state
is quite simple -- it is a reflection of Mr. Calloway's greatness in our field.
His attention to detail and the timeliness in which work is completed, as well
as his knack for finding top employees, are what make his firm the best.
According to Kathy Stewart, an underwriter with Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation
with over fifteen years experience in this field, "Mr. Calloway gets the
work done and I never have to worry about it arriving by its due date. He does
excellent work, does it quickly, and his employees all are of the highest caliber."
Rio Bravo, the restaurant that served as the location for the event, was packed,
with almost the entire firm in attendance. After dinner, the award presentation
took place. Ted Morris, a representative from Chicago Title, began by saying,
"It is hard to find anyone who puts the amount and quality of work out
as this firm does. It is a great honor for myself and Chicago Title to present
Calloway Title this award for its top performance for the year 2001."
Upon presentation of this award, Mr. Calloway rose and to speak, “The
only reason I have so many of these plaques on the wall are the people who work
for me. My employees are really the ones who strive to get it done. This is
your award, this is your excellence."
After the ceremony, an employee of Calloway Title, Chris Carson, was asked what
he thought of the events that had taken place and about his reaction to the
award. He replied, "We work hard, and it is nice to be recognized as the
best. I work here for more than just a paycheck. The feeling I get when the
job gets done, and done right, is just as rewarding."
