Projected LDRS Annual Course Offerings (PDF)
The Lǽdan Program
<lǽ•dan> - to lead, to guide, to show the way
The Lǽdan Program is jointly housed by the Department of University Studies and the Center for Student Leadership. Students will participate in a year-long experience combining two 3 credit hour academic leadership courses with scheduled co-curricular meetings. LDRS 3000: Foundations of Leadership, offered Fall Semester and LDRS 3200: Leadership in a Global Society, offered Spring Semester, will enable students to develop an understanding of current leadership theory in a local and global context. Students will go on two retreats and meet for two hours every other week as a group outside of class in order to put theory to practice. Through a self-designed regional service project (taking place over part of Spring Break) that focuses on the local impact of a global issue, students will gain practical leadership experience in positively impacting their community in a meaningful way. At the conclusion of this program, students will be recognized at the Annual Center for Student Leadership Banquet with a certificate on behalf of the Department of University Studies and the Center for Student Leadership.
Applications will be available every March. Applicants will be interviewed and notified of selection prior to Fall Semester registration. For more details feel free to contact any of the Program Coordinators:
