Dr. Julia Morrissey
Dr. Julia Morrissey is an assistant professor of English in University College. Julia teaches Reading 0099, English 0099, English 1101 in learning communities, ESL 1105, and English 2110 (for international students). She also coordinates the Regents’ Exam preparation program and teaches Regents’ preparation courses. Her academic interests are varied and include an emphasis on the scholarship of teaching and learning in the fields of reading and writing. She retains the strong interest in American culture that caused her to earn a doctorate in American literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill but now combines that with an equally strong interest in world cultures and global issues. Mr. David Schmidt
David Schmidt has worked in the ESL Program at Kennesaw State University since 2000. David is a program administrator and faculty member responsible for coordinating international student entrance examinations, alternate Regents’ tests and workshops, and the Conversation Partners Program, as well as all the activities of the ESL Study and Tutorial Center. He also teaches second language sections of developmental English and first-year composition, and serves as an academic advisor and English tutor for international students. He earned both his B.A. in English and M.A. in Professional Writing (with a concentration in composition and rhetoric) at KSU. David’s special interests include second language writing pedagogy, learning center administration theory and practice, and creative writing.
