Honors Program
The Honors Program at KSU provides a unique opportunity for exceptional students to customize their college experience. Through colloquia, seminars and directed studies, honor students can tailor their experience to meet their needs and interest. Instead of being restricted to the guidelines of a course catalog, students are encouraged to think outside the box and stretch themselves in academic directions that appeal to them. To guide them in their journey, a faculty mentor is assigned to each student. Most students only know faculty in a classroom setting, but honor students develop a one-on-one relationship designed to enhance their collegiate experience. To be accepted into the program, applicants must fall into one of two categories. If they are entering freshmen, they must have graduated from high school within the last five years; must have exceeded CPC minimum requirements for full admission; and must have maintained a grade point average of at least 3.7 in their high school academic courses AND made a minimum combined (and recentered) score of 1200 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (or an equivalent composite score on the American College Test). If they are already enrolled at KSU, or have transferred from another academic institution, they must have maintained a 3.7 grade point average in at least 30, but no more than 60, hours of course work at Kennesaw State University. If you want a different experience at KSU from the norm, contact the Honors Program and we’ll help you expand your view of the world even more.
