I will complete this Applied Learning Experience in conjunction with a specific course in my major or a field related to my major. (Please write the course abbreviation and number here: .)

I will complete this Applied Learning Experience outside the boundaries of a designated course in my major, and will receive Honors credit for my work, but I will not register for Honors 4400 as a means of receiving academic credit for my experience.

* Please describe, as specifically as possible, what you will be doing for your applied learning experience. In addition, explain how the experience will enable you to apply the skills you have learned in your major and how it might give value back to the context in which you are working. If you are completing the experience in conjunction with a specific course, please explain how you work will exceed the conventional expectations of non-Honors students in the course.

* For every Honors student, the applied learning experience must culminate in a substantive PRODUCT -- for example, an analytical essay, a research paper, or a formal presentation of some kind. Please explain as thoroughly as you can what the nature of this PRODUCT will be.

* Please identify the MILESTONES of your project and a tentative schedule for their completion.

* If you are doing your applied learning experience in conjunction with an established course (see above), please identify any course requirements that will be waived to accomodate your Honors work.

When you have met with you Honors mentor (and, if applicable, the instructor of the course that will provide the framework for your applied learning experience), please complete this form and return it to Dr. Liza Davis, Department of University Studies, Kennesaw State University, 1000 Chastain Road #1802, Kennesaw, GA, 30144. Dr. Davis will construct an Honors contract and submit it to you and your mentor for approval and signatures.

PLEASE NOTE: Since this contract is not bound by the time limitations of a semester-long course, its terms do not have to be met by a specific deadline mandated by the Honors office. However, you will need to establish with your supervising instructor the final deadline for submission of your Honors product. That date should be included here.
