Peer Mentors

Tutors

The KSU Early Start Bridge Academy (ESBA) seeks tutors who love mathematics and who are willing to work with incoming first-year students who need the extra support in mathematics. As an ESBA tutor, you will be able to give first-year students the tools that they need for success in a first-level mathematics course. In addition to offering students mathematics assistance, ESBA tutors will also be responsible for providing a social connection for ESBA participants.

What is the Early Start Bridge Academy (ESBA)?

The ESBA is administered by Kennesaw State University’s University College. It is a four-week program that begins just before fall semester and is essentially a “bridge” because it helps incoming traditional-aged first-year students make an easier transition into college. The ESBA will offer students the chance to get an early start in completing their learning support mathematics requirement and the KSU First-Year requirement. The ESBA program will be held July 13-August 6, 2009, from 8:45 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays.

During the first four-weeks of the ESBA, tutors will be required to be present daily from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

What are the responsibilities of an ESBA tutor?

Attend an ESBA tutor training session
