Position Title:
Part-time Assistant Professor of
Art Education
in the Department of Visual Art

Position available August 2008

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a part-time art education teaching position as needed beginning August 2008.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kennesaw State University (KSU) invites applications for a non-tenure-track part-time faculty position in Art Education in the Visual Arts department, beginning August 2008. Candidates’ responsibilities will include but not be limited to supervision of student teachers in art classrooms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Art Education preferred and Ed. S. or M.A. Ed. will be considered; supervision of student teachers, college-level teaching, and P-12 art classroom experience a plus.  Candidates must be able to drive, as supervision sites are located throughout the surrounding area.  The Visual Arts department is NASAD accredited.  Commitment to excellence in teaching is expected of all faculty members in the KSU College of the Arts. 

Applications will be accepted until position is filled.  Candidates should send the following:  a letter of application that addresses applicant’s position qualifications; current vita; digital CD of 20 examples of personal work and 20 examples of student work; sample syllabi; statement of teaching philosophy; names, addresses, and phone numbers of at least three professional references.  Official transcripts will be requested of finalists.

Graphic Design

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a part-time graphic design teaching position as needed beginning January 2008.

RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

MFA in Graphic Design (MA considered), college-level teaching, and real world working experience in graphic design. The Department is NASAD accredited. Teaching load is up to five courses for the school year. Courses will include introductory computer courses to art majors of different concentrations and a multimedia course. Candidate must be proficient in OS X, Adobe CS Suite and Adobe products, 2-Dimensional Design principles and elements, typography, and page layout. Experience in multi-media design and multi-media software such as Dreamweaver, Flash MX and Final Cut Pro I is desired.
