Department of Visual Arts
If you are interested in pursuing a degree in the Department of Visual Arts, you must make separate supplemental application directly to the College of the Arts at Kennesaw State University. This application is in addition to the standard application for admission to KSU. Application procedures are included in the downloadable application form {244 kb PDF} and should be printed and kept for your records.
NOTE: In some browsers, such as Firefox on Macintosh computers, you will need to save a copy of the application to your computer's desktop before opening. If you do not see pull-down menus for certain items on the application, such as "admit term," you will need to do this before completing the application. Acrobat Reader 7.0 (free download) or higher is required to view, complete, and save the form.
Prior to admission to either the Bachelor of Fine Arts or the Bachelor of Science in Art Education you are required to submit a portfolio of representative work to be reviewed by the Portfolio Review Committee in the Department of Visual Arts. Deadlines for submitting your portfolio are listed below:

Upper-Level Courses KSU Admissions Site Course Override Form
Visit your assigned Visual Arts Faculty Advisor. The faculty advisor serves as a guide in the planning of your course schedules throughout your education in the Department of Visual Arts. Although this advisor is available for guidance, it is ultimately your responsibility to choose courses, plan your schedule, and register for classes. Please check your student records for your art faculty advisor's name in the "Owl Express" login of the KSU web site at http://www.kennesaw.edu. Once you find your advisor, set-up a time to visit him or her by calling or Emailing.

Upper-Level Portfolio Review Process
Students must be admitted by an upper level portfolio review to a BFA concentration area or the BS Art Education program to continue their Visual Arts degree program at KSU. Students are admitted to a BFA concentration or the Art Education Program based on available openings and the quality of the student's submitted portfolio work.
Before registering for upper-level courses, BFA and BS (Art Education) students are required to complete the following:

Scholarships
In addition to KSU's regular
scholarship programs available to all Kennesaw State University students,
and the financial aid programs administered by the Financial
Aid office, the Department of Visual Arts awards various scholarships
to declared art majors. These art scholarships are awarded during the
spring semester.
Winners of the scholarships are announced at the Annual
Juried Student Show.
Extra-Curricular Information
Consider participating with the student art groups, clubs, exhibitions, activities and exhibitions on campus and in the Metro-Atlanta area.
