Professor of Art (Foundations)
Biography
Dr. Hightower holds a master of fine arts in art from Georgia State University and an art education doctorate from the University of Georgia. She previously served as Associate Director of the School of Art and Design and School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and also has served as chair of the art departments at Mississippi State University and Shorter College. Proving it's a small world after all, Dr. Hightower even taught three courses at KSU while completing her doctoral work at UGA.
An artist and a teacher, her work appears in eighteen collections throughout the south, Washington, D.C., New York and Europe. She also owned and operated an artist partnership gallery for fifteen years.
