Artist's Statement

My recent work explores stages of human emotion, including betrayal, confinement, awareness, acceptance, and growth. In my awareness of our connectedness, I try to use my work as a conduit for the shared experiences. I choose fossils, bones, jasper, agate and various other natural forms for their diversity in dimension and sculptural impact as well as their connectedness with the earth. There is a tangible similarity between human emotions and the energy evoked within my selected “earth objects”. The forms I create evolve through contemplation, reverence, and respect for the diversity of natural environments and human experience.
