  • Kennesaw State taps former dean as interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs

    Retired Professor Emeritus of Psychology and former KSU administrator Linda Noble has returned to Kennesaw State as part of the University’s presidential transition. Noble has joined the Office of Academic Affairs in a part-time role to assist Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Ken Harmon as he transitions into the role of interim president. Noble will then serve as interim provost when Harmon becomes KSU’s interim president on Feb. 15.  –  January 10, 2018

    Could a traffic agency identify a potentially dangerous road intersection without first witnessing a collision? Three Kennesaw State University researchers and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) are attempting to answer that question as they near completion on a two-year proof-of-concept study to develop an image-based system for monitoring and assessing the safety of intersections.  –  January 09, 2018

    Georgia's 2018 legislative session begins Monday, but lawmakers may have another date circled on their calendars: May 22. That's the date of the primary for all statewide offices, including members of the Legislature, governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state. And since state law prohibits members of the General Assembly from raising funds during a legislative session, there is a good chance lawmakers may decide to move along quickly so they can get back to their re-election bids, according to Kerwin Swint, director of the School of Government and International Affairs at Kennesaw State University.  –  January 08, 2018

    When more than 71,000 fans pour into Mercedes-Benz Stadium to watch the College Football Playoff championship game on Jan. 8, their eyes will inevitably drift upward to view the 58-by-1,100-foot LED halo video display board considered to be the largest of its kind. On the ground below will be Gary Smith, a 2006 graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University ̶ now Kennesaw State University ̶ and a field service engineer with audiovisual company Daktronics. Smith served as installation supervisor during the display’s construction and continues to provide game-day technical support at the stadium that serves as the home to the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United Football Club.  –  January 02, 2018
