    The 75 empty ceramic bowls spread across a table were symbolic to most of those attending a fundraiser at Kennesaw State on Nov. 8, but not to Kennedy O’Brien, an integrative studies major. Having skipped meals almost daily without choice, she was intimately aware of the issues of hunger, food insecurity and homelessness, which the first “Empty Bowls” event at Kennesaw State was designed to highlight.  –  November 10, 2017

  • Milton Overton Introduced as Director of Athletics

    efore an audience that included media, coaches, athletics and university staff, and supporters, Milton Overton was officially introduced as the fourth Director of Athletics at Kennesaw State University during a press conference Thursday at the KSU Center. University President Sam Olens made the official introduction of Overton, who joins the Owls family after spending the last two years as Director of Athletics at Florida A&M University.  –  November 09, 2017

    If you love history, antiquing and good food, Georgia’s official tourism website advises, visit Adairsville — “a Norman Rockwell kind of town.” The site of the Civil War era’s legendary Great Locomotive Chase, Adairsville’s history has centered largely around its role as a transportation hub — halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga — especially the railroad. Its fabled depot was converted to the Adairsville Rail and Depot Age of Steam Museum in 2001 but closed after 10 years. Through a partnership between the city, the San Souci Women’s Club and Kennesaw State University’s public history program, a focus on history has returned to the heart of Adairsville.  –  November 02, 2017
