    Sisters Karen, Daniela and Stephanie Carvajalino have been entrepreneurs ever since they started their first business as elementary schoolchildren. Among all their business ventures, the one they consider most important is teaching others how to succeed.   • A Record Discovery

    Kennesaw State University student Jade Corn didn’t know quite what to expect when she signed up for an Honors course this fall titled “Bone Records: The Story of Censorship, X-ray Film, and Bootleg Music in Soviet Russia.” College of the Arts Dean Patricia Poulter is an expert on bone records, also known as bone music, and taught the course.  –  September 29, 2017

    Kennesaw State University once again has been named one of the most environmentally responsible “green” colleges in the nation for 2017 by The Princeton Review. It is the seventh time Kennesaw State has been recognized. The publication’s annual Guide to 375 Green Colleges showcases colleges with exceptional commitment to sustainability based on their academic offerings and career preparation for students, as well as campus policies, initiatives and activities. Kennesaw State is one of six Georgia colleges named to the guide released Sept. 20.  –  September 29, 2017

  • Local economist: Georgia's economy strong and growing (Marietta Daily Journal)

    Georgia’s economy is strong in the fourth quarter of 2017 and on pace to grow by more than 2 percent this year. That was the message delivered to a room of Marietta business owners by a leading economics expert from Kennesaw State University. Roger Tutterow, an economics professor and the director of the KSU’s Econometric Center, said this week the American economy is still expanding post-recession without any signs of slowing down.  –  September 28, 2017

  • Construction management department raises $140,000 for scholarships, facility improvements

    An annual fundraiser held to support Kennesaw State University’s construction management department reached new heights this year by collecting more than $140,000 for scholarships and the development of teaching facilities. The 16th Annual Industry Advisory Board Fundraiser Gala, held last week at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, drew more than 50 sponsorships from individuals and organizations.  –  September 28, 2017

  • Professor and students win top honor at international migration conference

    A Kennesaw State University professor and two of his doctoral students received “Best Paper” honor among the more than 500 papers scholars from around the globe submitted for presentation at the 2017 Migration Conference in Athens, Greece last month. Joseph Bock, director of the School of Conflict Management, Peace Building and Development and associate professor, co-wrote the paper – a survey of information and communications technologies (ICTs) that can be used to help migrants or to enhance how migrants can help each other – with Kevin McMahon and Ziaul Haque, both second-year students in Kennesaw State’s Ph.D. program in International Conflict Management.  –  September 27, 2017
