  • Kennesaw State professors develop virtual reality games to teach children cybersecurity basics

    In order to teach school-age children the basics of cybersecurity, two Kennesaw State University professors are collaborating on a method to deliver lessons where K-12 students spend most of their time: playing video games. Launched by Joy Li, assistant professor of computer game design and development, and Yan Huang, assistant professor of software engineering, the project is pegged as an alternative to traditional learning activities by teaching students the principles of cybersecurity in a immersive virtual reality (VR) environment.  –  October 01, 2021

  • Kennesaw State Electric Vehicle Team wins several accolades in national competition

    Kennesaw State University’s Electric Vehicle Team won big at its latest competition, setting a track record and bringing home first place in the autonomous division, and second place in the driven competition. The team, part of the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET), traveled to Purdue University to compete in the evGrand Prix, an annual, electric go-kart racing event.  –  September 30, 2021

    Whether it’s in the shallows along the Florida Gulf Coast or a stream near Atlanta, Kennesaw State assistant professor of biology Troy Mutchler often finds himself knee-deep in his research.   • Scholarships help Kennesaw State students succeed in recovery

    As a senior majoring in exercise science, Bre McDonald has come a long way from the days when she derailed her college career with excessive drinking and a nonstop-party lifestyle. During a year at a treatment center, McDonald learned about KSU’s Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery. She enrolled at Kennesaw State in 2019 and became part of CYAAR’s nationally recognized Collegiate Recovery Program, which she credits with turning around her life.  –  September 21, 2021

  • Kennesaw State students partner with Microsoft, BlackRock and Wellstar in Hackathon event

    Kennesaw State University students were given the opportunity to race against the clock and work with major companies to solve industry-related issues at the 2021 Hackathon. The three-day, interdisciplinary event partners students with industry leaders to develop solutions to real-world problems. This year, Microsoft participated as an event sponsor along with BlackRock and Wellstar Health System.  –  September 20, 2021
