On September 24, 2025, Drs. McCafferty and Salazar-Tobar attended the Kennesaw Police Department’s Citizen Advisory Board 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.

The evening was filled with vibrant culture, food, music, dance, and a strong sense of community spirit. More than 200 community members joined the celebration, along with several members of the Kennesaw Police Department.

The Kennesaw Police Citizen Advisory Board is a group of dedicated community members who work closely with Chief Westenberger to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the public. Dr. McCafferty is an active member of the board, which helps organize events throughout the year, including Juneteenth: A Celebration of Unity and Taco Time with the Kennesaw Police Department.
