Notice of the Filing of an Application for Permanent Employment Certification

The following notices are posted as a result of the filing of an application for permanent alien labor certification for these job opportunities. These postings will remain in public view for a period of at least 10 consecutive business days and must be made no more than 180 and no less than 30 days prior to filing the permanent labor certification application.

 

Lecturer of Physics

 

Responsibilities: Teaching calculus and non-calculus based introductory physics lectures, recitations, and laboratories; service to the department, college or university related to instruction, pedagogy, and/or student success; teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Required Qualifications: A master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Physics or a closely related discipline is required; or a master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with current evidence-based instructional practices, such as active learning; evidence incorporation of inclusive pedagogies and modern instructional technologies into the classroom; evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community; experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses; record of past teaching at the undergraduate university level.

Lecturer of Biology

 

Duties: Successful candidates will be expected to establish an inclusive teaching environment where students from diverse backgrounds feel like they belong and can be successful.   The primary teaching area is in an introductory biology sequence for STEM majors, specifically the first semester covering the cellular and molecular aspects of biology, but also in the subsequent genetics course. Other courses may be included as appropriate.  Teaching at the undergraduate level is expected with an emphasis on active, inclusive, and experiential learning.  Participation in professional service and support for inclusive excellence within the Department, the College of Science and Mathematics, the University and beyond is expected.  Required Qualifications: An earned master's, or its foreign equivalent, in a biological science or closely related discipline, with coursework relevant to teaching cellular and molecular aspects of biology or genetics is required. Preferred Qualifications: A record of: using evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices at the university level; teaching introductory biology and/or genetics to a diversity of students; mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds; service that engages a diverse community and works to build an inclusive institution.

Lecturer of Software Engineering

 

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for the position include teaching and service work with an emphasis on enhancing the teaching mission of the department. The teaching duties will primarily include teaching three first-year courses per semester with approximately 120 students per course. Courses are taught on both the Marietta campus and Kennesaw campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to- face, hybrid, and online. Other responsibilities include - participating in course and program development activities; working collegially with colleagues; student advising; working with a diverse community. Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines. Required Qualifications: An earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Computing or a closely related field; or an earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching online or hybrid courses; experience working with diverse communities.

Assistant Professor of Architecture

 

Responsibilities: Teach up to three courses per semester [in architecture] (including design studio), engage in continuous creative research engagement, and serve the department through committee and professional service. Teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community is also expected. Faculty workloads are typically defined as follows: Teaching/Instruction--60% of annual workload. Research / Creative Activities--20% of annual workload. Service--20% of annual workload. Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

 

Required Qualifications: An accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch) terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent. A record of studio teaching, and a demonstrated professional and scholarly commitment to Architecture.

 

Preferred Qualifications: To teach history, theory and cultures, a Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture, or a related field is required. The department is interested in candidates with a strong understanding of building assembly, systems, performance, and design and/or a record of teaching history, theory, and cultures of world architecture in an integrative manner within a five-year professional Bachelor of Architecture context. Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to integrate their research, creative work and/or professional practice into their teaching, which will include design studios, core courses and/or electives
