Choosing a College Major May Be Tough for Your Student
Encourage them to take KSU's Majors' Quiz and explore what fits their interests and abilities.
Choosing a college major is an important life decision. Help your student make a smart choice - encourage them to pick a major based on what they know about themselves.
- What do they enjoy doing?
- What are they good at?
- What type of lifestyle do they want?
Discuss their results. They may also want to discuss their ideas with their high school counselor and/or their KSU academic advisor. The quiz results will provide interesting possibilities to consider.

Every student starts with general education classes, so encourage them to have an open mind. Nearly 80 percent of college students change their major at least once.
