Homelessness and food insecurity are on the rise among college-aged students, and Kennesaw State University will bring these issues to the forefront during its annual Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 2-9. Now in its 12th year, the weeklong event is organized by the University’s Campus Awareness, Resource and Empowerment (CARE) Services program, which serves Kennesaw State students experiencing homelessness, food insecurity or foster care.

All 170 of the WellStar School of Nursing’s 2018 bachelor’s degree graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on their first attempt. The 100 percent first-time pass rate by Kennesaw State Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates was well above the 89 percent figure nationwide, according to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. The NCLEX is a standardized exam that each state board of nursing uses to determine whether nursing graduates are qualified to enter the profession.

Georgia Schools Superintendent Richard Woods and Cobb County School District Superintendent Chris Ragsdale are among inaugural inductees into the Bagwell College of Education Hall of Fame at Kennesaw State University. Seven education leaders were honored Thursday at a ceremony establishing the Bagwell College of Education Hall of Fame, recognizing KSU alumni who have made significant contributions in the education field. Along with Woods and Ragsdale, the first Hall of Fame class includes Tanya Curren, Susan Padgett-Harrison, Raquel Rimpola, Shea Thomas and Dean Yoder.

Two graduates of Kennesaw State University's College of the Arts have been named to Graphic Design USA's "Students to Watch 2018" list. Audrey Arnold of Acworth, Ga. and Katie Vines of Tyrone, Ga. were among 75 students from universities throughout the U.S. named to GDUSA's annual list. Both women were nominated by faculty in the College's School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State.

The Kennesaw State men's track and field team won its seventh consecutive ASUN Conference Indoor team championship on Saturday, February 17 at the Liberty Indoor Track and Field complex. This is the program's ninth ASUN Indoor title, which is the most in conference history.
