Matt Griffin Named Interim Director of Athletics

Kennesaw State University President Sam Olens announced Friday that Matt Griffin will serve as the interim director of athletics. Griffin is no stranger to Kennesaw State, having spent two years as the Owls’ assistant athletics director for internal operations and the two years prior as director of athletics at Southern Polytechnic State University before the two institutions consolidated. Since 2015, Griffin has served as KSU’s director of trustee relations and development.

Kennesaw State student-athlete makes Italian National Team

Kennesaw State rising sophomore Carlotta Gianolla had one goal this summer – make the Under-20 Italian National Team. Following a three-week tryout that concluded on July 3, Gianolla's hopes became reality when she was one of 16 players selected to the team that will represent Italy in the European Women’s Basketball Championship that begins Saturday (July 8) in Matosinhos, Portugal.

Tennis standout repeats as ASUN Student-Athlete of the Year

Kennesaw State men’s tennis player Simon Pritchard has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season. The awards were announced at the conference’s annual meetings in Savannah.

Two Owls selected in Major League Baseball draft

The New York Mets in the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft selected Kennesaw State's Tony Dibrell in the fourth round (127th overall) Tuesday evening, marking the 10th consecutive year a player has been drafted out of KSU.

Kennesaw State to host football game at SunTrust Park in 2018

Kennesaw State University and the Atlanta Braves have announced that the Owls will host a football game at SunTrust Park in 2018. The game on Saturday, November 17, 2018 between Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State University will be the first football game played at the new, 41,000-seat home of the Braves that opened in Cobb County in April.

KSU golf team advances to NCAA Championships

The No. 39 Kennesaw State men's golf team rode the momentum of a quick start and withstood windy conditions for most of its round to shoot a 2-over par 290 on Wednesday and tie for second place at the NCAA College Grove Regional and earn its third trip to the NCAA Championships.

Kennesaw State swept the Atlantic Sun Conference outdoor track and field championships over the weekend, as the women’s team earned its first ASUN outdoor title and the men’s team took home its fifth straight.

More than 3,200 graduate during Commencement ceremonies

More than 3,200 students will graduate during Kennesaw State University’s spring Commencement. Among the speakers who will deliver addresses are the first black female Air Force general, an internationally recognized entrepreneur, and a high school dropout who became a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and will graduate from medical school this month. Kennesaw State President Samuel S. Olens will preside over the five graduation ceremonies in the KSU Convocation Center on the Kennesaw Campus, beginning Tuesday, May 9, at 10 a.m.

Men's golf wins ASUN title

Jake Fendt birdied the 18th hole to give Kennesaw State a one-stroke lead, and Christopher Guglielmo two-putted for par on 18 to clinch a one-stroke victory over Lipscomb in a thrilling final round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Golf Championships that concluded Monday at the Chateau Elan Legends Course.
