KSU football inks largest class since 2014

Kennesaw State head football coach Brian Bohannon added four more players to 2019 National Signing Day Class on Wednesday, joining the largest December class in program history to complete the 23-member #NestUp19 signing class. The 23 signees make up the largest signing class since the inaugural class in 2014, when 30 players inked NLI's and later became known as the Original Gangsters of KSU football. That historic original class led the Owls to 37 victories, back-to-back Big South Conference Championships and consecutive appearances in the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs.

KSU Player Finishes Runner-Up for National Award

Kennesaw State graduate quarterback Chandler Burks finished runner-up in the final voting for the STATS FCS Walter Payton Award, the organization announced Friday (Jan. 4) at its annual awards banquet. The award recognizes the top FCS offensive player.

Brian Bohannon Named AFCA Region Coach of the Year

After leading the Kennesaw State football team to back-to-back Big South Conference championships and consecutive FCS Playoffs quarterfinal appearances, head coach Brian Bohannon was named AFCA Region 2 Coach of the Year as announced on Tuesday morning. The winners will be honored at the American Football Coaches Awards, on Tuesday, Jan. 8, during the 2019 AFCA Convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Top turf: Kennesaw State stadium earns national award

For the fourth consecutive year, Kennesaw State University’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium has been recognized as one of the top playing fields in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association. The STMA named Fifth Third Bank Stadium its 2018 “Field of the Year” in the College Sporting Grounds category. The multi-purpose stadium is the centerpiece of KSU’s Sports + Entertainment Park and hosts about 50 events a year.
