Kennesaw State University’s Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business (MEBUS) program has been recognized by Billboard Magazine as one of the country’s top university music business programs for the third year in a row.

Kennesaw State University recently took first place in the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition and will go on to compete for the national title in May. This is the first time Kennesaw State has won the competition, which it has overseen since 2006.

For the third time in the event’s 22-year history, Kennesaw State took the top prize this week at the National Collegiate Sales Competition. And, for the first time in the event’s history, they did so without ever leaving their homes. Each spring, the National Collegiate Sales Competition and the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition invite hundreds of students to campus to showcase their talents and to network with peers and corporate recruiters.

For the fourth straight year, Kennesaw State University’s Executive MBA program in the Michael J. Coles College of Business ranked first in Georgia in CEO Magazine’s 2020 Global Executive MBA Rankings, released today. The Executive Master of Business Administration ranked No. 3 in the United States based on CEO Magazine’s methodology.

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has approved two new degree programs at Kennesaw State University. A Master of Science in Cybersecurity and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management will be offered starting in the 2020-21 school year.

Coles College of Business – the third-largest business school in Georgia – has earned accreditation from the leading global accrediting body for business schools. For 25 years, the Coles College has maintained accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). AACSB accreditation is the most sought-after stamp of approval for business schools worldwide, and one that less than 5 percent of schools have achieved.

Dana Hermanson is one of the most prolific accounting researchers in the world. With more than 100 publications on topics ranging from corporate governance and fraud to accounting education, his research passion comes largely from a desire to better understand people. Hermanson, who has taught accounting in the Michael J. Coles College of Business School of Accountancy since 1993, was recently honored by the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association with the Outstanding Educator Award at their Midyear Meeting in Houston, Texas.

Kennesaw State University has been named among the top 100 colleges and universities in terms of online enrollment, seeing an almost 50 percent increase in total students enrolled in online coursework since 2015, according to a recent analysis by Inside Higher Ed.
