Kennesaw State will host the 2018 FutureX Live conference, the largest augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality conference in the Southeast, on Nov. 16 at the University’s Marietta Campus. KSU is the first university to host the conference. Sponsored by Moxie, a modern marketing solutions company, and KSU’s Joel A. Katz Music Entertainment and Business program (MEBUS), FutureX spotlights the creative possibilities in the music, film, television and gaming industries. This year’s theme, “The Future of Entertainment,” offers a day-long program including student-driven technology showcases, discussions by industry leaders, and an augmented-reality concert by top recording artist Leah Culver.

The Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University will honor Michael J. Coles with a celebration October 17, in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the naming of the nationally-ranked business school.

Kennesaw State University has received two grants totaling $2.81 million for its Education Economics Center in the Michael J. Coles College of Business. The Education Economics Center explores education taxes, expenditures and resulting outcomes, while conducting research on topics such as teacher labor markets, public school staffing, school choice, charter schools, access to Advanced Placement courses, and voter attitudes.

Kennesaw State University will welcome Atlanta Hawks Chief Executive Officer Steve Koonin as the next speaker in the Coles College of Business Tetley Distinguished Leader Lecture Series. Koonin will speak Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. in room 151 of the Burruss Building. He will discuss marketing strategies for connecting with the next generation of fans.

Billboard – one of the world’s most influential entertainment media companies – recently included Kennesaw State University in its list of the top 15 music business schools in the country. The list highlights the university’s Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program (MEBUS) for its inclusiveness and its relationship with Atlanta-area entertainment brands such as Live Nation, Coca-Cola Studios, and the Zac Brown Band.

College rankings are one measure of success for today’s universities, and Kennesaw State is no stranger to that notable recognition. In the past month, the University has been named in the top 10 in six different rankings, which have touted Kennesaw State for its online programs and dining services.

More than 3,100 students will graduate during Kennesaw State’s spring Commencement. The University’s six graduation ceremonies will be held in the KSU Convocation Center on the Kennesaw Campus, beginning Tuesday, May 8, at 10 a.m.

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on Tuesday approved the appointment of Roger Tutterow as the Henssler Financial Endowed Chair at Kennesaw State University. As the Henssler Financial Endowed Chair, Tutterow, an economics professor and the director of the Econometric Center in the Michael J. Coles College of Business, will conduct research, develop and teach courses, mentor students and faculty, and represent and promote the College to the community.
