At Kennesaw State University, graduation doesn’t mark the end of a journey. Rather, it signifies the launch of an entirely new adventure. It’s a time during which thousands of Owls transition from inquisitive learners to innovative doers, from students to the next generation of business leaders, teachers, engineers, artists and healthcare workers. A time in which far-flung families descend upon Kennesaw State to laud the achievements of their loved ones. In celebration of those turning the page to a new chapter, KSU honored more than 2,500 students in its Fall 2021 Commencement ceremonies this week.

Kennesaw State partnering with historic university to spur entrepreneurship

Kennesaw State University is teaming with one of the nation’s oldest historically Black universities to advance entrepreneurial and academic opportunities at both institutions. In a formal agreement, Kennesaw State’s Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship Center in the Michael J. Coles College of Business will partner with Wilberforce University’s Mark and Shelly Wilson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to promote entrepreneurial practices through student projects, faculty collaboration, research and mentorship during the 2021-22 academic year.

Kennesaw State accounting graduate takes non-traditional path to success

Amanda Soriano has not taken the conventional route to earning her bachelor’s degree, but her determination and involvement have helped forge her path to success at Kennesaw State University and beyond. Soriano, a mother of three, is graduating this month from the Michael J. Coles College of Business with a degree in accounting, officially completing her undergraduate studies more than a decade after she graduated from high school.

Kennesaw State's new business incubator funds six high-tech projects

Six innovative technology startups formed by Kennesaw State students and alumni are now one step closer to thousands of dollars in funding, having cleared the first milestone in the University’s Igniting New Companies (INC) business incubator. Supported by the Mookerji Innovation Fund – a $120,000 gift to Kennesaw State from technology entrepreneurs Sid and Sophie Mookerji – the INC invites students and alumni from across the University to apply for funding and development assistance for their tech-based businesses.
