Longtime KSU supporters establish scholarship for entrepreneurs

Doug and Robin Shore have developed a close relationship with Kennesaw State through two decades of supporting the University, including funding several scholarships, serving on advisory boards, visiting KSU’s educational site in Italy and attending countless on-campus events. Their latest gift will support a group near and dear to Doug, the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Scholarship Endowment Established in Honor of Late KSU Alumnus

Allen Brooks can recall the first time he met the late Kennesaw State University alumnus John Boyko on the way to his usual fishing spot. At the time, Boyko was a freshman business student at Kennesaw State working part time at a local bait shop, allowing the two to build a friendship over their common interests. By the time Boyko entered his junior year, he would receive an invitation to complete an internship at Kennesaw-based company ServIT, where Brooks served as president, and ultimately blossomed into whom Brooks said was the company’s “first marketing genius.”

KSU among top 15 national schools where students are eager to enroll

For the third consecutive year, Kennesaw State is a leading choice for students, according to data from U.S. News & World Report. The U.S. News study determined that Kennesaw State has one of the nation’s highest admissions yield rates, meaning the percentage of admitted students who enroll.

KSU student dedicated to helping others earns scholarship

Accomplished Kennesaw State University student Artis Trice again has earned national recognition, receiving a $10,000 scholarship from Taco Bell toward pursuing his passion of solving food insecurity in Atlanta. Trice, a geography major and Honors student from Ellenwood, was one of only 66 students chosen from 11,000 applicants nationwide to receive one of the scholarships. Taco Bell is awarding a total of $3 million in scholarships, and Trice won the second-highest amount of $10,000 for the Foundation Live Más Scholarship.

More than 3,500 spring graduates earn degrees from Kennesaw State

Their official ceremony may be postponed, but more than 3,500 Kennesaw State University students are graduating this week. The May 2020 class of 3,512 graduate candidates – 2,893 undergraduate and 619 graduate students – marks an increase from last spring’s 3,400 graduates. The students are earning their degrees and receiving their diplomas after KSU transitioned to fully remote learning midway through the semester because of the coronavirus outbreak, which also caused the May Commencement ceremonies to be postponed.

Kennesaw State breaks ground on Academic Learning Center
February 26, 2020
Kennesaw State University broke ground today on a new Academic Learning Center, a student-focused, 143,000-square-foot building that will feature 20 classrooms, six seminar rooms, a multi-purpose lecture hall, and computer and other specialized labs. Located at the center of the Kennesaw Campus, the ALC is expected to be completed by October 2021.

Kennesaw State University Fall Commencement

Kennesaw State will graduate over 2,600 students over five ceremonies held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Wednesday, Dec. 18 in the KSU Convocation Center on the Kennesaw Campus.

Renowned nuclear safety expert to speak at KSU
September 11, 2019
Kennesaw State alumnus and nuclear safety expert Charles Casto, who led the U.S. government’s response to the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, will discuss leadership principles during a lecture on campus on September 23.
