Student 3D Printing Services, Workshops, and Design Support

Located on the Marietta Campus, the 3D Print Farm supports student coursework, competition teams, senior design projects, and hands-on learning opportunities through a variety of 3D printing resources and services.

Students can use the 3D Print Farm to:

  • Get help with 3D/ SolidWorks design for 3D printing projects  
  • Seek assistance with Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) techniques 
  • Complete 3D/ Additive class assignments and coursework 
  • Support capstone and senior design work via 3D prints and prototypes 
  • Print personal projects including entrepreneurial prototypes 
  • Build 3D printing skills through personal learning 

Print Services for SPCEET Students

SPCEET students and student teams can submit 3D print requests for coursework, senior design, competitions, and other approved academic needs.

Use the 3D Print Farm to:

  • Submit a request for 3D printing
  • Get guidance on preparing files for printing
  • Discuss materials and print requirements
  • Get help determining whether a design is ready to print

3D Printing Equipment

The 3D Print Farm provides access to a fleet of FDM and SLA 3D printers, along with post-processing equipment that supports coursework, research, rapid prototyping, and project development.

Workshops & Consultations

The 3D Print Farm offers the following workshops, presentations, and consultations to help students and faculty learn more about 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD).

  • CAD Design Assistance: Get help designing a part for 3D printing or receive guidance with CAD software and design best practices.
  • 3D Printing Consultations: Meet with our team to discuss printability, material selection, printer limitations, and project requirements.
  • CAD Workshops: Faculty may request introductory CAD workshops for their classes. Training can be tailored to course needs and provided during scheduled class periods.
  • 3D Printing Presentations: The Print Farm can provide classroom presentations covering additive manufacturing, available services, and the print request process.

  • The 3D Print Farm is located on the first floor of the Engineering Lab Building in the alcove beneath the stairs near the east entrance. 

Hours of Operation: Please contact the 3D Print Farm for current operating hours.

  • Open Monday—Friday during academic semesters
    • Typically opens beginning the second week of classes
    • Hours vary based on staffing
  • Closed during University holidays and academic breaks
  • Appointments are recommended for design discussions or extended assistance
    • Walk-ins are welcome when staff are available
