Who should pursue an MAT?
Aspiring teachers with undergraduate degrees in subjects other than education who would like to change careers into education. MAT includes initial certification which is required to teach in many school systems. -
How is an MAT different than an M.Ed.?
If you're seeking initial certification and/or currently hold a provisional or temporary certificate, consider a Master of Arts in Teaching program. An M.A.T. leads to initial teacher certification. M.Ed. programs are for educators who already hold a clear, renewable teaching certificate. -
