Graduate Tuition and Fees Information

Graduate expenses include in-state tuition, out-of-state tuition, international tuition, or online tuition rates and mandatory student fees and special fees. All fees are due and payable at the time of registration, and registration is not complete until all fees have been paid.

In-State vs. Non-Resident Tuition Differences

You may register as an In-State student upon showing that you have been a legal resident of Georgia for a period of at least 12-months preceding the date of registration. To see if you qualify as an In-State resident of Georgia, check the Georgia Residency Guidelines.

Applying for Financial Aid

If you are thinking about applying to a graduate program at KSU, you should complete the FAFSA so that potential sources of financial aid can be identified for you. You should complete the FAFSA about the same time that you complete the Graduate Application for Admissions.

Types of Financial Aid

You must be fully accepted to qualify for any student financial aid. If you are accepted pending official documentation or provisionally/conditionally accepted, you will not qualify for financial aid.

Additionally, you must be in a degree seeking program to qualify for financial aid. Non-degree programs, such as certificate programs or teacher certification add-on programs, may not qualify for financial aid according to federal guidelines. For the most up-to-date information, check with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid..

  • KSU’s scholarship portal, Scholarship Universe, opens every year on November 1 and closes on March 1, and includes a list of scholarships specifically for graduate students. To search scholarships:

    • Go to KSU's Scholarships website
    • Click on "Apply now"
    • Click on "Search Scholarships"
    • Category Search (click on the box with the + sign)
    • In the Class box, select Graduate from the list
    • Scroll to the bottom and click Search
  • Graduate students are eligible for the following loan programs:

    • Unsubsidized for $20,500 for an academic year.
    • AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members serve full-time for a year at nonprofit organizations or local government agencies to build the capacity of these organizations to carry out programs that alleviate poverty. After one year of service, VISTA members qualify for the Segal Education Award (valued at approximately $7,395) to pay for a range of education expenses.
  • A Graduate Research Assistant works with a faculty member on a specific research project for a certain number of hours each week. In exchange, the GRA is granted a tuition fee waiver and provided a stipend. See the GRA website for more details.
